How can we help?

Will the app find multiple vision plans if the patient has two?

Add a short description of what it’s about.

Yes, SpexFetch can identify and return multiple active vision plans for a single patient, depending on the scenario and the information provided during the search.
Here are a few common examples:
1. Multiple Plans Under a Single VSP Policy
Some patients have multiple VSP plans under a single policy—such as a
Signature Plan, Additional Pair Plan and Essential Medical Plan.
In these cases, SpexFetch will detect and return all eligible plans, issuing authorizations for each one accordingly.
2. Dual Coverage (e.g., Spouses)
If both a patient and their spouse have VSP coverage, SpexFetch will search under both individuals and return any plans associated with each person. This ensures you get full visibility into all potential benefits.
3. Plan-Specific Search Behavior (e.g., EyeMed)
For plans like EyeMed, where member ID is commonly used to search, SpexFetch will only return plans directly tied to that ID.
However, if you include additional details—such as name, date of birth and member ID, the app can run a broader search, increasing the chance of pulling back multiple plans tied to either the primary or secondary insured.
💡
Tip: The more complete and accurate the patient data you provide, the deeper SpexFetch can search—this principle applies across all supported vision plans.
