The process inside SpexFetch follows the same rules as if you were looking them up directly on the VSP 2020 Source website.
👤 Looking Up a Policyholder
To search a policyholder, you must enter all 4 pieces of information:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
- Last 4 digits of their SSN
Without all of these, no results will return in the app.
👨👩👧 Looking Up a Dependent
When you need to check benefits for a dependent (child, spouse, etc).
Look just above the Member ID / Last 4 SSN field. You’ll see a purple button with family icons 👨👩👦. Click it, and the system will prompt you to enter the dependent’s:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
All fields are required before you can begin your search.
📄 Authorizations & PDFs
- Every VSP 2020 Source search in SpexFetch will always generate a brand-new authorization and a PDF
- Even if a patient already has an existing authorization, running a new search will create another one automatically
